Commonwealth Woods joins festival fun

The Commonwealth Woods legacy project has teamed up with Scotland’s biggest multi-cultural festival, Glasgow Mela, at Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow this summer.
A mini Commonwealth Games, environmental art and workshops are just some of the fun activities on offer at a fantastic Kids Zone sponsored by the Forestry Commission Scotland.
It’s an opportunity for families to learn more about our network of 14 Commonwealth Woods in and around Glasgow where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy free events and activities to get active, learn or just have fun.
It has been created as part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games legacy to encourage people to get outdoors, foster community pride in local green spaces and improve the quality of life for local communities.
The Glasgow Mela takes place on 7th and 8th of June 2014.
