Halloween in the Woods
Published on: Tuesday 22nd October 2013
Ghostly storytelling, lantern lit walks and of course, dooking for apples are just some of the activities that are going on at the Commonwealth Woods this Halloween.
Boden Boo in Erskine, Renfrewshire and Todd Wells in Easterhouse will be hosting two special Halloween events for the whole family to take part in.
For the second year, Boden Boo will be hosting Halloween in the Woods on Saturday 26 October from 6 until 9pm. The evening will see the Walking Theatre Company, along with local youth groups, act out some spooky stories. There will also be guided trail walks through the wood which will be lit up with oil lanterns.
As well as the performances, there will be plenty of traditional games to join in such as the best costume competition, dooking for apples and doughnuts on a string.
If that’s not enough, Freaky Friday Night will be taking place at Easterhouse wood on Friday 1 November from 6 until 8pm.
There will be a lantern led walk with Rosslyn Mills, Commonwealth Woodland Walks Development Officer, through Todd Wells woods. It will be followed by storytelling of ghostly and haunted tales at Provanhall House, which is one of the oldest houses in Glasgow dating back to the mid 15th Century.
To find out how to take part (if you dare) in these spooky Halloween events, please follow the links to Boden Boo and Easterhouse, and remember to dress up in your scariest costume!
Send us your pics.
We would love to see pictures of you in your scariest costume at one of the above Halloween events. Why don’t you send some to our Commonwealth Woods Facebook page?
