Cuningar Loop is a £5.7 million Legacy 2014 project that transformed 15 hectares of derelict land on the banks of the River Clyde into an attractive woodland.
The park offers local people and visitors opportunities to get involved, get active and be inspired by the outdoors with key features including:
• Extensive path network
• Adventure play facilities
• A bike pump track
• Scotland’s first bouldering park
• Trim trail outdoor gym
• Large meadow and picnic areas
• Amphitheatre for outdoor learning
• Boardwalk running parallel to River Clyde
Set within beautiful surroundings, 15,000 trees have been planted including native oak, silver birch, maples and lime trees and a wild flower meadow. Expected to attract over 100,000 by 2021 Cuningar Loop is an important legacy of the Commonwealth Games.
Sitting opposite to the new residential development, The Village, previously the Athlete’s Village, Cuningar Loop is just off Downiebrae Road by Dalmarnock Bridge and close to Rutherglen, Dalmarnock and Farme Cross.
